Jesus Came a Knockin’
Jesus came a knockin’ at the door of my heart.
He said, “I want to enter, so you can do your part.
I want you to study and dwell upon my word,
I want you to teach and pray until my word is heard.”
He said, “If you don’t have time for me, I don’t have time for you.”
He brought no bread, no bag, no money in His belt.
He said, “I’ll stay if you’ll just welcome me,” as He knelt.
“I want you to sing, praise and worship in my name,
To show the little ones that life is not just a game.”
He said, “If you don’t have time for me, I don’t have time for you.”
Yes Jesus came a knockin’, He didn’t want to grieve.
He said, “If you don’t listen, I’ll shake the dust off as I leave.
I want you to follow me so everyone can see,
That you have denied yourself, taken up your cross, and followed me.”
He repeated, “If you don’t have time for me, I don’t have time for you.”
You see, Jesus comes a knockin’ at the door of every heart!
He says, “Let everyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.
If you do, then even before your own eyes have time to blink,
I will send you my Spirit, and then you will surely know,
That very deeply within you, My LIVING WATERS flow!”
