Allocation of The Promised Land in the Millennium

My interpretation of the layout of the Promised Land as it will be distributed in the millennium according to Ezekiel and others in the Old Testament is attached. It shows the approximate location of the millennial city. Note that the map is not drawn to scale since I wanted to scale up the sacred portion in the center of the land so we could see the details of the layout a little better.

The following comments pertain to the map which I have presented for the Promised Land in the millennium.

I relied most heavily on the layout of the Promised Land presented to Ezekiel by Jesus in Ezek 47-48. Because many of the places referenced in Ezekiel’s day no longer exist or have very different names it is quite difficult to locate precisely where they might have been. The NE and SE corners were the most difficult to locate. A place called Hazar Enan was apparently near the intended NE corner. This seems to be associated with the Euphrates River and was in east central Syria. A place called Tamar was the SE corner. It seems that this had also been called En Hazeva and was SW of the Dead Sea. I used these clues to help me locate the NE and SE corners.

Zeph 2:8-9 (and Amos 9:12-15) says that northern and central Jordan will belong to Israel.

Isa 26:15, Micah 7:11 and Ps 72:8 all say that the borders of the land will be extended in the millennium.

Isa 60:18-22 says that Israel will possess the land forever.

Obadiah 1:19-21 and Isa 11:14 help in locating the NW and SW borders of the land.

Zeph 2:4-7 says that the land of the Philistines (Palestine) will belong to Israel.

Isa 27:12-13 says that in the Millennium Israel’s land will extend from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt.

All 13 portions of the land border on the Mediterranean Sea, and all seem to have 25 straight line miles on the coast. All pave ports and beaches.

9 of the 13 tribes had their land located in the same general relative north – south positions as the existed initially during the period of judges. 4 of the tribes will be significantly relocated from their initial positions. Zebulun and Issachar each had small land locked pieces of land in the Galilee area. They will be moved to large sections in the significantly expanded southern area of Israel. Reuben and Gad originally had their land on the eastern side of the Jordan River. Gad will be moved to the southernmost part of the new Promised Land. Reuben will be moved to an area between the Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean Sea. All four will now border the Mediterranean on the west. The area where Issachar, Zebulun and Gad will be moved had been a wilderness in the original Holy Land, but will be a paradise in the millennium.

All 13 sections will be in a near paradise setting in the millennium and again all will have sea front property. Many and possibly all will also have water on the eastern border. Gad will extend to the Gulf of Aqaba which is a gulf on the Red Sea.

The following comments apply to the huge temple area in the Promised Land.

There will be huge kitchens on the four corners of the outer court of the ½ mile square temple area.

The kitchens will be each be 158 x 211 feet in size.

Stoves for cooking will be around the outer walls of each of the four sides. Assuming four 8 ft doors in each kitchen there would still be room for 175 4 ft cooking stoves in each kitchen. That would be a total of up to 700 4 ft stoves total in the four kitchen areas.

There will likely be millions of people visiting the temple area at least twice yearly as indicated in Ezekiel. This will be during the feasts of Passover and Tabernacles, Ezek 45:21-25. There will be a need to prepare a huge amount of food during these feast celebrations. Most of the gifts referred to as “sacrifices” being brought to the temple area will likely be the food which will be prepared for the huge number of worshippers coming to pay their respects to Jesus.
