JUDGMENTS: Rev 6:1-17, 8:1-9:21, 11:15-19, 16:1-21. The three sets of judgments to be inflicted upon the world. These really seem to be one set of judgments exercised in three phases, so to speak. The first judgment, the Seal Judgments, is a description of the means for accomplishing the other two sets of judgments, Rev 6:1-17, 8:1. The Trumpet and Bowl judgments are the initial and continuing results of the application of the judgments on the earth, respectively, Rev 8:2-9:21, 11:15-19, 16:1-21. John is told that these judgments are sweet to the taste but sour in the stomach, Rev 10:9-10. I suspect that means that people get pleasure from chewing on and studying the judgments given in Revelation, but once they finally swallow and digest them they get sick at the stomach once they understand what is going to happen to the earth and the people who live here. See Ezek 14:21. Also see Mountain for an alternative view.
JUDGMENT, SHEEP-GOAT: Matt 25:31-46, Joel 3:12-13, Ezek 20: 32-38. A judgment of all of those still alive on the earth at the Second Coming of Jesus, as described in Matt 25:31-46. The purpose is to decide who will be allowed to remain on earth for the start of the 1000 year millennium period. Only those who are believers in Jesus will be allowed to remain on earth. Those who are not believers will immediately be thrown into Hades to await their ultimate judgment at the Great White Throne Judgment.
JUDGMENT, GREAT WHITE THRONE: Matt 20:11-21:1. The final judgment at the end of the age, the millennium, of the unredeemed in Christ. This is everyone in the history of the world who have not become followers of Jesus. All of those judged at this judgment receive the death penalty, Rev 14-15. This death penalty is the second death; see Death, Second Death. The judgment is based upon what those being judged had done while on earth, and is based upon what is written in the book of life. This represents the end of human existence upon the earth. In fact, there will now be no further need for Hades so it is destroyed. There also will no longer be death, since there are no longer any humans. All believers are now in their resurrected bodies and reside forever in the new heaven and the new earth in the presence of God.
